Description

The Seymour building consists of 205 suites and is known as Strata Corporation VR460. Constructed in 1977, the building has 19 floors with 6 two bedroom and 5 one bedroom units per floor. Situated directly north of the Whytecliff building, this high rise is oriented to an east and west exposure. The corner suites are all two-bedroom plans with a size ranging from 844 to 865 square feet. There are two smaller, two-bedroom plans of 761 square feet found on the East Side. Four of the one-bedroom floor plans are found on the West Side, with sizes ranging from 585 to 613 square feet. The one east facing one bedroom plan is 527 square feet. This building is very similar to the Whytecliff building but there are differences in window placement of some of the one-bedroom suites. With a west exposure, suites will view the manicured Woodcroft gardens and as floor height increases have views to the Lions Gate Bridge, Stanley Park and English Bay.  The East Side has private, treed outlooks and morning sun. The higher floors see both North Vancouver and mountain views. In 1998, Seymour completed extensive common area renovations to the entire building. In 2004, the underground parking areas were repainted. The building completed a replacement of the hot and cold water plumbing system in 2008. In 2009, the strata corporation approved the pressure washing of the building exterior and completed some balcony spalling repairs. In 2010, the Seymour Guest suite was completed and is now available for rental to guests of all Woodcroft owners, (click the link below). In 2011, the owners approved to complete the remaining exterior concrete spalling repairs and repainted the entire building exterior. The owners have approved and completed a re-building of all three elevators. This project was completed in 2013 and resulted in what many observers would agree is the highest quality elevators in the entire Woodcroft complex. Three of the other buildings rebuilt their elevators to the same standard recently. For 2016, the owners approved a roof replacement to be paid from the Contingency Reserve and this project was completed in 2017. In 2020 the building is replacing all three hot water boilers to a high efficiency model. Percentage of rental suites as of September 2020 is 53%. There is no restriction on rentals but two bedroom suites are limited to 3 residents. One bedroom suites may have two residents. The Seymour building shares recreation facilities with the Whytecliff building.
